Creek Baptism

Let's All Go Down To The River
It has long been the tradition of Saline Baptist Church to baptize at the Saline Creek in Minnith. After Sunday morning services, the congregation takes a short walk down to the creek, usually in summer months. However, in years past, members have been known to break ice in winter months to baptize those who have professed their faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
Pastor Steve Berry is pictured here with George Vaughn who requested to be baptized on a very cold Easter Sunday in April, 2007

A Word from our Pastor

The Bible says to "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel..."(Mathew 28:19).  This is what we are trying to do in our own little world in Minnith, Mo. God wants us to do this  for two reasons. First of all, God loves people.  John 3:16 says that "God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whosoever believeth in him shall not perish but have eternal life." The second reason he wants us to go into the world and preach the Gospel is,  God wants us to grow. Colossians 2:19 says that..."..under Christ's control, the whole church is nourished....and grows as God wants it to grow..." We have grown a lot in the past several years. God has blessed us with a great Youth facility and an outdoor Pavilion for the many events our church has throughout the year.  We have seen the numbers from our various events grow beyond belief.  God, however, wants another type of growth from us- Spiritual growth. The bible says we should "...grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ..."

2007 was a great year for our church.  Praise the Lord for the dedicated members of our church who are willing to do the Lord's work. I pray that 2008 will find us growing not only in number, but also in spirit as we go into our world and preach the gospel.

Please continue to pray for those on our prayer list, for our church, its ministry and for others to come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

Bro. Steve Berry
